The IPC index rose 0.8 percent to 38,327.43.
Compartamos SAB (COMPARC*) (COMPARC* MM), the holding company that controls low-income lender Banco Compartamos SA, slipped 2.7 percent to 13.79 pesos. The market is “disappointed” by the company’s guidance this week, Rafael Escobar, an analyst with Mexico City-based Vector Casa de Bolsa SA, said in a phone interview today. Compartamos said Feb. 29 that net income would rise between 2 percent and 5 percent this year.
Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES*) (PE&OLES* MM), Mexico’s largest silver producer, sank 0.7 percent to 647.93 pesos. Silver futures for May delivery fell in New York.
