Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE) said today that the U.S. Department of Justice approved the transfer of wireless frequencies to its T-Mobile USA unit from AT&T Inc. (T)
The handover is part of a breakup package following AT&T’s failed attempt to buy T-Mobile USA, Philipp Kornstaedt, a spokesman for Bonn-based Deutsche Telekom, said by telephone. The Federal Communications Commission, which must also approve the transfer, hasn’t ruled, he said.
The Federal Trade Commission today listed the deal among transactions that have been cleared by U.S. antitrust authorities.
