Safaricom Increases Tariffs on MPESA Transactions, Daily Reports

Safaricom Ltd. (SAFCOM) increased tariffs for customers who send amounts of more than 3,500 shillings ($42) via its mobile-phone money-transfer service, Business Daily reported.

Fees will also rise for withdrawals using the so-called MPESA service, the Nairobi-based newspaper said, citing Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore.
