Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC is challenging a court order obtained by Canada’s Competition Bureau compelling the bank to turn over documents related to an alleged conspiracy to manipulate prices on interest-rate derivatives.
The Ontario Superior Court has granted RBS an “interim stay” on the order to provide the documents, Competition Bureau spokeswoman Alexa Keating said today in an e-mail.
The bureau is investigating whether RBS and other banks conspired to affect prices on derivatives linked to the Yen London interbank offered rate, according to court documents.
