Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PETR4) said it made a new oil discovery in the pre-salt area in Brazil’s Campos Basin, according to a regulatory filing today.
Petrobras said tests at the well in the BM-C-33 block indicated output of 5,000 barrels of oil and 807,000 cubic meters of gas per day, the statement said.
Repsol-Sinopec Brasil is the area’s operator, with a 35 percent stake, while Petrobras has 30 percent and Statoil has 35 percent of the project, according to the filing.
