February 22, 2012

Feb. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Greek benchmark October 2022 bonds stayed lower after Fitch downgraded the nation’s credit rating to C from CCC.

The yield on the securities climbed 63 basis points to 34.05 percent at 11:38 a.m. London time.

A default by Greece is highly likely in the near term, the ratings company said in a statement today.
