Feb. 22 (Bloomberg) -- North Sea Brent crude’s price, expressed in U.K. pounds, traded within a few pence of an April 2011 record high, data compiled by Bloomberg shows.
The price of Brent for April settlement on the ICE Futures Europe exchange in London, converted to the British currency, rose as high as 77.59 pounds today. That compares with an April 8 intraday high of 77.64 pounds, the data show.
The dollar price of the front-month contract rose as high as $121.92 today. It rose to a record of $147.50 a barrel on July 11, 2008.
