Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks erased gains after an early rally sent the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index above its highest closing level since June 2008.
The S&P 500 was little changed at 1,362.06 at 9:50 a.m. in New York after earlier climbing as much as 0.3 percent to 1,365.73. Consumer-staples, health-care and financial companies led losses among 10 groups. The Dow Jones Industrial Average erased a 33 point gain to trade down 1.13 points at 12,948.74.
