Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Antonis Samaras, the head of Greece’s second-biggest parliamentary group New Democracy, welcomed news from Brussels today that euro area finance ministers approved a second rescue package for Greece.
The decision “removes the risk of the country defaulting, safeguards our European perspective, allows for debt to become sustainable and clears the path for elections,” Samaras said in Nicosia, Cyprus today. “For a Greece that is suffering, and a people suffering, it is not a time for jubilation. The great battle for the recovery of Greece starts now and New Democracy will play a major role in this battle for hope, growth and recovery.”
