Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Cove Energy Plc, the London-based oil and gas explorer that’s put itself up for sale, is receiving interest from national and international oil companies, Standard Chartered Bank said.
“There is a lot of serious interest across the board,” said John Martin, a managing director at Standard Chartered, which is advising Cove on the sale. “There are serious contenders.”
Martin, who declined to name the potential bidders, said both the world’s biggest listed oil companies and national oil producers are interested.
