EU Leaders Urge Basel Capital, Leverage Rules Be Fully Applied

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The leaders of 12 European Union nations said the region should apply international rules on bank capital, liquidity and leverage “with no dilution.”

The rules, drawn up by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, should be “binding,” the leaders said in a letter to EU President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Barroso released today.
