Chile’s Copper Mining North Will Get More Rains, Onemi Says

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Seasonal rains affecting Chile’s Atacama Desert, where Codelco and BHP Billiton Ltd. operate copper mines, will continue tomorrow, national emergency service Onemi said on its website today.
The rains, which extend from December and March in the high plains of the Andes in northern Chile, will start to recede on Feb. 22, Onemi said.
