Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- United Nations Secretary Ban Ki-Moon said Syrian hospitals being used as “torture centers” must close and the “indiscrimate shelling” of civilians must stop.

“What is important at this time is that the Syrian authorities have to stop killing their own people,” Ban said today at a press conference in Vienna. “This violence has to stop on all sides, both by the national and opposition forces.”

Ban will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe later today in the Austrian capital
