Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said today that it was for Iran to demonstrate that its nuclear programme is “genuinely peaceful,” and that the country hadn’t done that yet in his view.
“The onus is on the Iranian side to prove that their nuclear programme is genuinely for peaceful purposes,” Ban told journalists in Vienna. “To my mind, and that of the IAEA, they haven’t done that,” he added, referring to the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency watchdog.
