Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Newmont Mining Corp.’s Indonesian unit is willing to discuss an amendment to its contract of work with the Indonesian government, Rubi Purnomo, a Jakarta-based spokesman at PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara, said in an e-mailed statement today.
Newmont Nusa Tenggara “understands that the amendment to the CoW has been regulated under the CoW itself and can be made based on a mutual agreement between the parties that provides benefits to both parties,” Purnomo said in the e-mail. Newmont “is ready for discussions with the Government of Indonesia on the CoW amendment plan.”
Purnomo provided no details on the ammendment.
