Russian Prosecutors Summon Moscow Talk Radio Chief Venediktov

February 15, 2012

Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Russian prosecutors summoned Alexei Venediktov, editor-in-chief of the liberal Ekho Moskvy radio station, after a complaint about possible labor-code violations, according to a posting on his Twitter Inc. account today.

OAO Gazprom Media, a division of Russia’s state-run gas company that controls 66 percent of the station’s voting shares, wants to replace Ekho Moskvy’s board after calling a meeting more than two months ahead of schedule for March 29, the Moscow- based radio station said on its website yesterday.
