Czech Stocks: Erste Group Bank, New World Resources Are Active

Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- The Czech Republic’s PX stock index climbed 0.2 percent to 1,006.5 at its close in Prague.

The following were among the most active equities in the Czech market today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Erste Group Bank AG (RBAG CP) of Austria jumped 2.3 percent to 470.7 koruna. Lenders led European shares higher after China said it would invest in the region’s bailout fund and Germany and France reported better-than-expected economic data.

New World Resources Plc (NWR CP), the biggest Czech coking- coal producer, climbed 0.9 percent to 152.4 koruna, extending this year’s rally to 12 percent. Commodities rallied, sending Europe’s benchmark coal derivatives up 0.4 percent to $113.4 a metric ton in the Netherlands.
