AngloGold Approves Mponeng, Zaaiplaats Projects

Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. approved a $416 million expansion project at its Mponeng mine in South Africa and the Zaaiplaats phase-two project for $395 million.

These are low-risk projects at “cornerstone” mines, Mark Cutifani, the company’s chief executive officer, told investors in Johannesburg today.
