Standard Chartered’s Tanzania Unit Full-Year Profit Jumps 65%

Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Standard Chartered Bank Plc’s Tanzanian unit said full-year profit climbed 65 percent as net interest income advanced.

Net income for the year through December increased to 33.4 billion shillings ($21 million) from 20.3 billion shillings a year earlier, Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Ltd. said in a statement published in the Dar es Salaam-based Daily News newspaper today.

Net interest income jumped 39 percent to 45.5 billion, it said.
