Siemens Sees Health-Care Market Growth of 4-5% Mid to Long Term

February 14, 2012

Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Siemens AG expects the health-care markets it serves to grow 4 percent to 5 percent in the mid to long term while there are “challenges” in the near term.

The market, which was worth 64 billion euros ($85 billion) last year, will be driven by “solid demand” for health-care information technology, particularly in the U.S., and diagnostics, the Munich-based company said today in a presentation on its website.

The restructuring program at the company’s health-care division will cost 200 million euros this year, Siemens said.
