Obama Says ‘Long Way to Go’ for Economy to Recover Jobs Lost

February 14, 2012

Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said the U.S. economy has a “long way to go” to restore the jobs lost during the recession even as the recovery is speeding up.

Obama renewed his call for Congress to extend a payroll tax cut through the rest of the year to keep growth and for lawmakers to pass the measures outlined in the fiscal 2013 budget blueprint that he sent to Capitol Hill today.

The president made his remarks at Northern Virginia Community College in suburban Washington where he was highlighting education initiatives included in his budget.
