Colombian Stocks: Bancolombia, Banco de Bogota, Valorem Advance

Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. local time.

The IGBC Index gained 0.4 percent to 14,220.55 while the Colcap Index rose 0.3 percent to 1,674.22.

Banks rose as Colombia’s loans grew 22 percent in 2011 from the year before, according to a report released today on the website of Colombia’s securities regulator.

Bancolombia SA (BCOLO CB), Colombia’s biggest lender, rose 0.4 percent to 27,700 pesos.

Banco de Bogota (BOGOTA CB), Colombia’s second-biggest lender, gained 0.9 percent to 49,860 pesos.

Valorem SA (VALOREM CB), the Colombian holding company with interests in broadcasting and manufacturing, rose 12 percent to 410 pesos. The shares gained 51 percent in the past week.

Virgin Mobile Latin America and Valorem’s Cine Colombia SA unit created a partnership to attract clients for Virgin Mobile’s plan to offer cellular phone services in Colombia in the second half of 2012, according to a Feb. 2 e-mailed statement from Virgin Mobile.
