UN’s Ban Calls on U.K., Argentina for Calm on Falklands Dispute

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon today called for the U.K. and Argentina to “avoid an escalation” of a dispute over the Falkland Islands.

After meeting with Argentinian Foreign Minister Hector Timerman, Ban “expressed concern about the increasingly strong exchanges” between the two countries, according to a statement released by the UN spokesperson’s office in New York.
