Chile’s Lomas Bayas Copper Mine Suffers Reduced Water Supply

Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Heavy rain in northern Chile has flooded channels in the city of Calama, temporarily reducing the supply of water to the Lomas Bayas copper mine operated by Xstrata Plc, company spokeswoman Emily Russell said in an e- mailed response to questions. The company hasn’t determined what impact the reduced water supply will have on mine production, she wrote.
