Xstrata Philippine Venture Appeals Environment Permit Denial

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Xstrata Plc and Indophil Resources NL’s Philippine venture has appealed the government’s decision denying its environmental clearance application, Sagittarius Mines Inc. President Peter Forrestal told reporters in Manila today.
“We are also continuing talks” with South Cotabato’s provincial government, which banned the method the company will use in the $5.9 billion Tampakan copper-gold project, Forrestal said.
