Vale Says Most Sudbury Mines Producing Again End of Next Week

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Vale SA said most of its mines in Sudbury, Ontario, will be producing again by the end of next week.

The restarts will begn with the Copper Cliff mine this weekend, Cory McPhee, a Vale spokesman, said today in an e-mail. The company is carrying out maintenance at the Creighton mine, which is expected to restart by the last week of February.

The mines were shut down after a Jan. 29 fatal accident. No impact on production is anticpated, McPhee said.
