Hungarian Stocks: Gedeon Richter, OTP Bank, Mol Move in Budapest

Feb. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Hungary’s benchmark BUX stock index increased 0.4 percent to 19,724.34 as of the close in Budapest.

The following are among the most active equities in the Hungarian market today. Stock symbols follow company names.

Gedeon Richter Nyrt. (RICHT HB) jumped as much as 2.6 percent and traded 1 percent higher at 38,995 forint. Richter and its partner Forest Laboratories Inc. said a Phase III clinical trial indicated that patients treated with the antipsychotic agent Cariprazine for acute manic episodes experienced “significant improvement.”

OTP Bank Nyrt. (OTP HB), Hungary’s largest lender, advanced 1.1 percent to 4,135 forint as Greece’s political leaders worked on a rescue plan with creditors, boosting demand for riskier emerging-market assets.

Mol Nyrt. (MOL HB), Hungary’s largest refiner, fell 0.4 percent to 20,195 forint. European Union governments moved toward stiffer sanctions on Syria, where Mol’s INA Industrija Nafte D.D. subsidiary produces oil and gas.
