Feb. 6 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks pared losses as gains in energy companies helped offset losses in raw-material producers.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index trimmed its retreat to 0.1 percent at 3:50 p.m. New York time from 0.6 percent earlier.
