Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Chilean trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close.
The Ipsa index slid 0.3 percent to 4,362.74. The MSCI Chile index gained 0.1 percent to 2,553.91.
Cap SA (CAP CC) fell 1.4 percent to 21,308 pesos. Chile’s largest steel and iron-ore producer retreated from a six-month high as the price of iron ore for immediate delivery fell for the first time in more than two weeks, according to a measure compiled by The Steel Index Ltd.
Coca-Cola Embonor SA (EMBONOB CC) rose 2.7 percent to a nine-month high of 959.99 pesos. Chile’s second-largest Coca- Cola bottler has climbed 9.1 percent in the three trading days since larger rival Embotelladora Andina SA announced a plan to take over Embotelladora Coca-Cola Polar SA at a 44 percent premium to Polar’s shares.
Soc. Quimica & Minera de Chile SA (SQM/B CC) fell for a fourth day, losing 0.7 percent to 28,207 pesos. Chile will call for bids to develop and operate lithium mines as authorities seek to boost competition for existing operators including SQM, Estrategia reported, citing Mining Undersecretary Pablo Wagner.
