Feb. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index rose 0.3 percent to 7,674.99, the seventh day of gains and the longest winning streak since December 2010. The benchmark index has risen 6.1 percent this week, the most since May 2009.
Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc. (2311 TT) slide for a third day, losing 1.4 percent to NT$27.80. The chip testing and packaging company was cut to “neutral” from “add” at Fubon Securities Co.
Formosa Sumco Technology Corp. (3532 TT) surged 6.9 percent to NT$37.20, the highest close since Sept. 2. Parent Sumco Corp. will move part of its production to Taiwan, R.S. Chao, spokesman for Formosa Sumco, said by phone yesterday.
Hiwin Technologies Corp. (2049 TT) retreated 3.1 percent to NT$279, the most since Jan. 9. January sales fell 19 percent to NT$764 million from a year earlier, according to a statement filed to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
