Rehn Says European Recession Can Be Brief If Governments Act

Feb. 2 (Bloomberg) -- European Union Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn said the current “mild recession” can be short-lived if European governments take the necessary measures

“We are living through a mild recession which can be relatively short under the promise the euro area and the EU will take the necessary decisions on fiscal consolidation and firewalls. Then it can return to growth in the second half of the year,” Rehn told Dutch parliament in The Hague today.
