Feb. 1 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index rose 0.4 percent to 7,549.21, a fifth day of gains and the highest close since Nov. 9.
Kinsus Interconnect Technology Corp. (3189 TT) dropped 3.4 percent to NT$92.70 after the company was lowered to “sell” from “buy” at Citigroup Inc.
Mitac International Corp. (2315 TT) surged 5.5 percent to NT$10.30, the highest close since Nov. 18, on speculation the Taiwan government will increase spending on cloud-computing infrastructure after naming a Google executive as minister without portfolio, Agriculture Bank of Taiwan fund manager Parker Wu said by phone.
