Santander Plans to Invest 3 Billion Reais in Brazil in 2012

Jan. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Banco Santander Brasil SA, a unit of Spain’s largest bank, plans to invest 3 billion reais in the South American country this year, Chief Executive Officer Marcial Portela told reporters today in Sao Paulo.

Santander Brasil is focused on organic growth and hiring this year will probably surpass the 1,800 people hired in 2011, Portela said.
