Brazil Oil Regulator to Investigate Petrobras Spill

January 31, 2012

Jan. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil’s National Petroleum Agency will investigate an oil spill that occurred today at a platform in deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean operated by Petroleo Brasileiro SA, the regulator said in an e-mailed statement.

The leak has been halted and the spill is being contained, the regulator said. Petrobras, as the state-controlled producer is known, said earlier today it spilled about 160 barrels of oil.
