Jan. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Assurant Inc., the insurer of foreclosed homes, obtained $130 million of natural-disaster protection through catastrophe bonds.
The deal protects the company against losses from hurricanes in Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Gulf Coast and East Coast, New York-based Assurant said today in a statement distributed by PR Newswire.
