Judge Declines to Wait for Appeals Court Ruling on Tobacco Ads

Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- A federal judge said she won’t wait for an appeals court to decide whether requiring cigarette makers to run graphic health warnings on their products violates their First Amendment rights. U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler ruled that she will continue to consider a U.S. proposal on warnings that the industry opposes.
