Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Jean-Claude Juncker, the prime minister of Luxembourg who leads the group of euro-area finance ministers, said that Greek default would lead to contagion, meaning the possibilty needs to be avoided, according to an interview published by Le Figaro newspaper.
“There’s no default without contagion,” Juncker was quoted as saying, according to an e-mailed excerpt of the interview. “It is in everyone’s interest to avoid a Greek default.”
Juncker also said that Europe needs to set a strategy for growth.
