Vale’s Peru Bayovar Phosphates Expansion May Come Online by 2014

Jan. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Vale SA may start up a new phosphates plant in Peru in 2014, part of a plan to expand its Bayovar deposit by 50 percent, a government ministry said.

Rio De Janeiro-based Vale, which has begun studies for the plant, doesn’t have an investment figure yet, Peru’s Energy & Mines Ministry said today in an e-mailed statement, citing Vale country manager Claudio Bastos.
