Iranian Official Says Previous Sanctions Were “Ineffective”

Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Sanctions against Iran have “proved ineffective in the past and will prove futile in the future,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific and the Commonwealth of Independant States, Abbas Aragchi, was quoted by the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency as saying today after the European Union announced a ban on oil imports.
