German Rescue Fund May Help Prevent Credit Crunch, BaFin Says

Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- The German government’s plan to revive the Soffin bank rescue fund may help prevent a credit crunch in the country, said Raimund Roeseler, head of banking supervision at financial market regulator BaFin.

Roeseler, who spoke at a parliamentary budget committee hearing in Berlin today, said he doesn’t see a squeeze in lending in Germany.
