Gavilon Said to Hire Morgan Stanley to Explore Strategic Options

January 23, 2012

Jan. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Gavilon Group LLC, the U.S. grain- storage company whose largest shareholder is hedge-fund firm Ospraie Management LLC, hired Morgan Stanley to explore strategic alternatives, a person familiar with the matter said.

There’s no definitive timeline for any transaction nor any guarantee that a deal will happen, said the person, who declined to be identified because the hiring of the bank hasn’t been made public.

Pen Pendleton, a spokesman for Morgan Stanley in New York, declined to comment.
