Baroin Says France Likely to Vote Deficit Rule After Election

January 23, 2012

Jan. 24 (Bloomberg) -- French Finance Minister Francois Baroin said France probably won’t be able to pass a constitutional change limiting budget deficits until after this year’s presidential election.

“Probably the text will have to be modified to be as close as possible to European norm,” he said at a press conference in Brussels. “Unfortunately don’t see it happening before the presidential election, and I regret that deeply.”
