Jan. 20 (Bloomberg) -- A three-judge bench of India’s Supreme Court started delivering its judgment whether Vodafone Group Plc can be taxed for its 2007 acquisition of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.’s wireless operations in the South Asian country.
The verdict of Chief Justice Sarosh Homi Kapadia, and Justices K.S. Radhakrishnan and Swatanter Kumar comes after a four-year legal fight between Indian authorities and the Newbury, U.K.-based company over tax obligations that may exceed $2 billion.
