German Government Sees 2012 Growth of 0.75%, Handelsblatt Says

Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The German government will predict in its annual economic report tomorrow that the economy will expand 0.75 percent this year, Handelsblatt report, citing a copy of the report it obtained.

Germany will avoid a recession even as the economy enters a temporary phase of weakness, the newspaper cited the unpublished report as saying.

Germany will keep its deficit below 3 percent of gross domestic product in coming years, adhering to European Union rules, the newspaper cited the report as saying.
