Ecopetrol Says Protests Reducing Output at Colombian Oil Field

January 16, 2012

Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Ecopetrol SA, Colombia’s largest oil producer, said protests are reducing supplies from a field in northern Colombia.

Protesters blockading roadways and hampering the entry of workers have reduced output at the Ciras Infantas field since this weekend, according to a company official who can’t be identified because of corporate policy.

The field usually produces 28,000-to-30,000 barrels a day of crude, according to the official.
