U.K. Stocks Rally After Spain Sells Debt; FTSE 100 Gains 0.5%

Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks climbed after Spain sold 9.98 billion euros of government bonds at an auction today, almost double the 5 billion-euro target.

The FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.5 percent to 5,698.23 at 9:56 a.m. in London. The gauge fell 0.2 percent earlier.
