Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Russia’s cattle and poultry production gained 4.4 percent to 11 million metric tons in 2011 from a year earlier, Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik said.
The grain harvest was 93.9 million tons after drying and cleaning, Skrynnik said today at a meeting in Moscow with agriculture officials and university principals, according to a statement on the ministry’s website. The harvest was 60.9 million tons the previous year after drought damaged crops, according to state statistics data.
Grain exports are forecast at 25 million tons in the 2011-12 marketing year, Skrynnik said.
The meat figures were given in the so-called live weight, which includes meat, byproducts and bones.
