Martins Estimates at Least 10 Ships Wait for Vale Production

January 12, 2012

Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Vale SA estimates at least 10 ships are waiting for its output, which is backlogged because of heavy rain in three Brazilian states. Jose Carlos Martins, Vale’s head of ferrous and strategy, spoke to reporters on a conference call today.

Vale, the world’s largest producer of iron-ore, yesterday declared a force majeure on iron-ore shipments because of the rain.
