Apple Beijing Sanlitun Store Still Closed After Cordon Lifted

January 12, 2012

Jan. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc.’s main store in Beijing remained closed after police lifted a cordon they had set up to hold back a crowd of hundreds of furious would-be customers demanding the store open as promised for the first sales of the company’s iPhone 4S in China.

The shop had been scheduled to open at 7 a.m. today for the handset’s China debut.
