Italy’s Consob Reviewing BlackRock Statements on UniCredit
January 11, 2012, 7:21 AM ESTBy Sonia Sirletti
Jan. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Italy’s securities market watchdog Consob is reviewing statements by BlackRock Inc. on its stake in UniCredit SpA.
BlackRock today said it owned 3.09 percent of UniCredit as of Dec. 28 and an earlier statement that it had cut the holding was mistaken. Consob is reviewing the announcements as part of its oversight of market abuse, said an official at the regulator, who declined to be identified because of internal policy.
